Section 4:

Abuse of Information Technology Privileges

Users found in violation of Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Information Technology Appropriate Use Policy are subject to a range of sanctions, including disciplinary action consistent with College policy and possible legal action.

4.1 Student violation of policy

First offense – The student will lose e-mail access for at least a week. He/she will receive written notification of this action from the Dean of Student Life.

Second offense – The student will lose e-mail access for two weeks. He/she will receive written notification of this action from the Dean of Student Life and may be subject to additional disciplinary action.

Additional offenses – The student will lose e-mail access for the remainder of the semester. Again, he/she will be notified of this action in writing by the Dean of
Student Life and may be subject to additional disciplinary action.

4.2 Faculty/Staff violation of policy

Violations by faculty and staff will be reported to the appropriate administrative officer who will document and take appropriate action to resolve the violation.
