Section 1:

Policy Development Process

The administrative section of the Kentucky Wesleyan College Faculty Handbook defines the responsibilities of the Campus Technology Committee as follows:

"The Committee is charged with the task of allocating technology resources, assigning priorities for technology use, and developing plans to meet future technology needs. This committee provides input into budgetary decisions by establishing priorities for the purchase of hardware and software from general operating resources and the Student Technology Fee. The committee also evaluates the adequacy of technology services on a regular basis, seeking information from administrative offices, academic departments and students."

To facilitate fulfillment of its charge, the Campus Technology Committee has developed or assisted development of the policies and guidelines contained in this handbook. The Handbook is intended to be a dynamic, "living" document. Consequently, the Committee will review the policies and guidelines regularly (See Appendix A: "Policy Review Schedule"). Assessment procedures include 1) collecting data relative to the use of information technology resources (network log files, web server statistics, etc.); 2) a student user survey taken every three years in conjunction with the library user survey; and 3) a faculty/staff user survey, also taken every three years.
