Diane Earle is a Professor of Music and Chair of the Department of Communication and Fine Arts.  An active solo recitalist and chamber music performer, Diane has performed in six countries and twenty-seven states.  Last season’s highlights included a performance of “Rhapsody in Blue” with the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, and a recital of piano music by composer John Steffa at Carnegie Hall.  This season, she was the featured pianist for the Kennedy Center’s Partners in Education national convention.

Dr. Earle is Education Co-Director for the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, and presents many programs for area schools, including the “Go for Baroque” programs, “Sounds of the Symphony”, and “Backstage With the Symphony”.  She is featured on several CDs, and is Chorus Director/Accompanist for the Owensboro Civic Chorus, a Music Instructor for RiverPark’s “Arts in the A.M.”, and  accompanist/collaborator with several opera and art song singers throughout the country.  She is a Yamaha Regional Artist.

A native of Canton, Ohio, Dr. Earle received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees, also in Piano Performance, from Ohio State University.  She did additional doctoral and post-doctoral study at Eastman School of Music, Indiana University, and Music Academy of the West.

Beth R. Stovall is a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College with degrees in Music Performance and Music Education.  She earned her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.  She appears frequently as a solo recitalist, and has performed as soprano soloist with the Owensboro (KY) Symphony Orchestra, the Evansville (IN) Philharmonic, and the Asheville (NC) Community Chorale and Orchestra. 

Currently, Ms. Stovall is the Director of Music at Settle Memorial UMC in Owensboro where she directs several choral and handbell ensembles for adults, youth, and children.  She serves as vocal coach and music consultant for the Rose Curtain Players of Owensboro High School, is a frequent guest artist in the Arts Teach Kids Program at Owensboro’s RiverPark Center, and operates a private voice studio.

Clyde Thorpe has been a performer, teacher and student of the guitar for over twenty-five years.After earning his Bachelor degree in Music Performance at the University of Kentucky, Clyde then studied under Stanley Yates at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.  While at Austin Peay, Clyde completed his Masters of Music, composed and arranged several pieces for guitar, earned a place on the Dean’s list of Excellence, and was the recipient of a Graduate Scholarship and a Graduate Assistantship. 

Mr. Thorpe has also performed in masterclasses for John Duarte, Douglas James, Claire Callahan, Renato Butturi, Rod Stucky, and Jeffery Van.  Besides teaching privately, Mr. Thorpe is also an instructor at Kentucky Wesleyan College, Brescia University, and in the Kentucky Community College system.
