To the right of the path is Ljubljana's Roman wall on the garden side. 

Anup, Susan, and Nancy at the Chinese restaurant, Shanghai.  It is located on the street that circles the base of the castle hill.  The food was very good.  Anup is from Australia . He is  a computer specialist who installs programs for banks.

This is an archway in the Roman wall.  Behind the arch the steps are curved .It is one of Nancy's favorite routes into town. The other side was shown in the first picture.

At the Chinese restaurant our waitress was very nice.  She helped us select several tasty dishes. Four Flavors, shrimp and vegetables, and orange chicken were the choices.

A view of Trazaska Cesta,toward our corner. The school of electrical engineering is on the left. The orange fence marks the spot of a formerly large building.  The nearest bus stop is at the end of the white rock fence.

This apartment building was having a new roof installed that included the addition of skylights. It is also across from the Mirje Restaurant..

The municipal workers have been pruning all the trees in town. We are ready for spring. This is the Ljubljana Parliament Building.

A caravan of cars raced around the corner, halted in front of this government building, and people jumped out and went inside. Nancy had her camera handy so she took a picture.

This is a statueof Boris Kidric that stands in front of the Cankerjev Dom.   He lived from 1913 to1957. This memorial to the revolutionary leader was designed  by architect Boris Kobe and produced by sculptor Zdenko Kalin in bronze.

The second measurable snow in Ljubljana this winter.  This house is in Rozna Dolina,  near our apartment.

This building is the Slovene National Philharmonic . It is currently being renovated, but it looks quite pretty in the snow. Nancy likes the trees  with their beautiful  snowy crust.

Tina, Zdewea, and Peter work at the Photo Tivoli. It is only a few blocks from the embassy and the bus stop. Besides preparing our pictures quickly, the have been very nice to us.  Peter has given us some tourist  advice. about visiting the Skocjan caves and the disappearing lake, Lake Cerknica.  It is a polje or a field above a collapsed karst cavern that is full of sinkholes. When these underground caves can't handle excessive rain or snow melt, the lake appears.

This lovely building is the University of Ljubljana library designed by Joze Plecnik.

This monument to Napoleon commemorates the freedoms he allowed when the region was controlled by the French from 1809 to 1812.

This church is St Jakob which is near the Castle Hill  There is a statue to Mary in gratitude for the region's armies not being defeated by the Turks.

We stayed at this hotel, Pri Mraku, in March 2000.  They have a great breakfast and very nice rooms.  It is one block away from the University's Music  School.

A pretty building in Ljubljana in the snow.

The Pust site near the University in the Kongressni Trg.  KWC needs  the gold and purple tent. It would be nice during graduation and other alumni events. It might be too hot in  Kentucky in the summer..

In a series of experiments at the Veterinary College, Henry and Marjeta attempted to observe free radical formation in lungs fluid from asthmatic horses.  This horse is being prepared for a  bronchoscopy. Petra Krameric, the veterinarian in charge, is standing in the doorway.

Marjeta is helping the veterinarians obtain the pulmonary secretions . These horses become asthmatic after being kept inside all winter.

Our postman, Tone Skop, making his rounds.  This was the first day of March and our second snow.  They must have the same motto: neither rain or snow shall stop the mail.

This mansion was used to entertain important visitors during the time of Tito. Now it is a museum.
